Crystal House is located at 205 Vệ Hồ, directly facing the eastern edge of Hanoi's West Lake. The site benefits from two open sides: a primary façade facing East toward the water and a secondary façade toward the Northeast. This condition allows the building to maximize natural daylight, views, and ventilation while interacting closely with the lakeside pedestrian promenade.

The story begins when the architect meets the investor in a networking session, because of the meditative sympathy from both. With the desire to bring a workspace with renewable energy for employees. From that topic, the architects at ARO took as the main inspiration to bring into this design.

ARO architects approached the needs of the house with 6 people and divided them into 3 different generations. In Vietnam cities, the level of urbanization development is very high, in which Bac Giang City is an industrial-oriented city. Northern Vietnam with a tropical monsoon climate and high humidity, the air is very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. So, with such problem requirements, the architects have come up with a natural approach to living programs for all spaces, solving the harsh sunlight in the summer and keeping the heat in the winter. The region will be the mainstay for people living in this place.

Due to the rapid urbanization of the city, the city's environment is seriously affected, many townhouses in Vietnam lack of necessary green space. The process of urban concreting influences the heat absorption which is causing average temperature in urban areas increased significantly. In addition, city residents are living and working at the speed life which seems to cause the loss of connection between family members. In addition, the source of fresh, quality vegetables is also a concern of many citizens.
