Each petal is an independent concrete slab, layered together with staggered heights and cantilevers that leave gaps, dissolving the building's mass. By day, natural light filters through the gaps; by night, artificial light spills out, outlining the silhouette of the petals.

The second floor of the main building and an adjacent single-story annex, added over 20 years ago with brick-concrete structures, had partially collapsed.

The project is located in Impression Meilin Scenic Area, Pingtong Qiang Ethnic Township, Pingwu County, Sichuan Province, China, about 4 kilometers away from the nearest Qiang ethnic settlement called “Zouma Qiang Village”. Green plum is the most representative local industry. Plum Villa is situated in thousands of acres of plum orchard halfway up the hill, where used to be a dilapidated old brick kiln. The common features of “square” and “trapezoid” in the plum drying hearth and Qiang ethnic dwellings, as well as the light and shadow on the corridor in the old brick kiln, all of them leave us with a strong and “unconscious” impression, then become the three most significant “imagery source” in our design for the Plum Villa, all of these elements embody highly simplified geometric features. The process of obtaining these geometric “imagery sources” is reminiscent of Aldo Rossi's architectural typology.

The project is located in Tangjianian, Xinhua Village, Jinjiang, Chongzhou city, Sichuan Province, where is about 50 kilometers (one-hour driving) away from the center of Chengdu. This is a typical Linpan in the west of Sichuan. The exhibition center and many Linpan are dotted between thousands of fertile fields. The forest is in the field, the courtyard is in the forest, the forest is planted with bamboo, white walls and green tiles, chickens and dogs, and small Bridges and running water can be seen everywhere. The original trees on the site are preserved and enclosed with the architecture to form four courtyards of different sizes. The trees and courtyards integrate with each other, creating the artistic conception of ”Place with a yard in the forest and a forest in the yard”. The classic Linpan image of "forest in the field and yard in the forest" is fully displayed in this place.

Regional culture and architectural purpose. "Bamboo Branch Academy" is located in Yongjiang Village, Zhuhai Town, Changning County, Yibin, Sichuan Province, near the famous Shunan Bamboo Sea Scenic Area. The project, situated in a small village in Huangjuetan, Yongjiang Village, is surrounded by bamboo forests, paddy fields, vegetable fields, and hills. The Yujiang River is babbling in the west and the south, and Shunan Bamboo Sea in the north rolls like a large green screen. "Bamboo Branch Academy" was developed as China implemented the "rural revitalization" strategy. Mentally, its architectural purpose is to "develop the bamboo industry in accordance with local conditions, and landscape Sichuan villages with bamboo forests" and "make bamboo of Yibin an ecological gateway to introduce southern Sichuan to the world." Physically, its architectural purpose is to build the Music Workshop under Bamboo, Paddy Field Academy, and Guild Hall for Buddhist Meditation.
