Khanka for a Fakir House / Archeground Ltd.

There is a story behind this project. In a MAZAR, the project's client met a FAKIR( a Muslim devotee and master, who stays most of the time in MAZAR). MAZAR is a holy place where a PEER ( Islamic religious master and spiritual guide ) was buried. That FAKIR didn't have any home of his own. The client became his follower and decided to make a KHANKA with a home for that FAKIR.

Shahabuddin Foundation School Complex / Archeground

The main focus was to design a school for community children of the village which will make them feel homely and inspire them in learning. Keeping this in mind, a joyful and vibrant school is designed to play in outdoor, semi-outdoor, and indoor spaces. This reflects the spatial organization of traditional homesteads of Bangladesh.

Dhaka International University Administrative Building / Archeground

The project, this “RED” building is configured as a space of interaction and source of inspiration for both teachers and students. The main focus was to design the building in such a way that ensures maximum compactness of the program and the minimum occupancy of the plot. This 3-storied building has provision for classrooms, administration rooms, multipurpose hall and library spaces. In addition, the roof of this building is designed to accommodate student’s outdoor activities which represents an important feature. Wide operable glass windows are introduced to ensure plenty of daylight and air circulation which minimize energy consumption. To cut down the startup cost, pre-owned furniture was arranged in this building space.
