The School of Architecture, Art and Design at Tec de Monterrey in Guadalajara, in partnership with the Japan Foundation, invites you to the lecture "Considering the Forgotten Margins" by architect Chie Konno (TECO).
TECO is an architecture firm founded and led by Chie Konno and Rie Allison. Established in 2015, the firm is known for developing social projects that address issues affecting Japan, such as an aging population and a lack of care facilities for both the elderly and children. The firm designs solutions that act as active agents in shaping community behavior. TECO takes a holistic approach to project development; consequently, their work also encompasses interior and furniture design.

For this reason, the Parque(ando) proposal involves temporarily occupying parking spaces to expand their potential for collective use, thereby promoting socialization, cultural expression and diversity, play, community, the appropriation of our spaces, and generosity.

In 2016, then-mayor of São Paulo João Doria announced a renovation project for Largo do Arouche, dubbed "Little Paris." Oscar Bulnes Valero, an Emeritus Academic of this Chapter, is a renowned architect from Monterrey and is deeply devoted to this northeastern region. He is our next guest for Session 258, where he will present "In Search of a Fair, Orderly, and Habitable City..." Architect Bulnes possesses an impressive architectural legacy and deep knowledge of this metropolis. He will present his latest studies on the city of Monterrey and its metropolitan area, in which he identifies the issues currently ailing the city. Furthermore, he will share his proposals, which he believes can significantly help resolve the problems currently afflicting Monterrey and its metropolitan area.

The exhibition presents a sample of contemporary residential production through a selection of 12 houses built in the São Paulo metropolitan area, featuring works by the offices SPBR, MMBB, SIAA, Grupo SP, Longato Pirondi, Apiacás, Brasil Arquitetura, Andrade Morettin, UNA, Obra, Terra e Tuma, and Drucker Arquitetura.

WHAT IS MAU?

The Architecture and Urbanism Moment at the Federal University of Paraíba (MAU-UFPB) is an annual, non-profit event organized by students in collaboration with the Academic Center for the Architecture and Urbanism Program (CACAU-UFPB). It aims to foster participatory and democratic discussions regarding the proposed theme within the field of architecture and urbanism. The event is structured around various activities planned according to specific themes, organized into discussion circles, lectures, workshops, experiential sessions, and conferences. Much like the National Federation of Architecture and Urbanism Students (FeNEA), the event aims to foster a creative, innovative, collaborative, human-centered, and socially conscious education, with the goal of expanding student participation as citizens within the student movement and as future professionals.

Fernando Pérez, Smiljan Radic, and writer Pablo Simonetti will present the book "Horacio Borgheresi. 1930-2012," which will be launched by the Universidad Finis Terrae School of Architecture on Thursday, December 19, at 7:00 p.m. at Casa Jordán, a project designed by Borgheresi in 1964.
