Join the AIA|DC Urban Design Committee & Technology Committee for our 2021 Open House Series at leading architectural and urban design firms in DC as they virtually showcase projects currently in planning, design, or construction phases.

From 16 to 24 October, Dutch Design Week (DDW) takes place in Eindhoven. The biggest design event in Northern Europe presents work and ideas of more than 2000 designers to more than 350,000 visitors from home and abroad. In more than 100 locations across the city, DDW organizes and facilitates exhibitions, lectures, prize ceremonies, networking events, debates, and festivities.

PHI is pleased to announce the launch of an international architectural competition for the design of PHI Contemporary - a cultural institution in Montreal, dedicated to exploring the contemporary through public engagement with art and culture.

This research originated within the Scuola di Dottorato Iuav, following the interests established by the Architectural Composition curriculum by interpreting the work through the lenses of innovation, tradition, and reconstruction. The study examines the work of Peruvian architect Juvenal Baracco, specifically his project for the Peruvian Air Force Officers' School (1981–1984) in Lima, by deconstructing the architectural elements and analyzing their specific characteristics in depth.

Sharpen your pencils! City of Kelowna Launches Infill Design Challenge 2.0

The City of Prague has launched an architectural design competition for the Vltava Philharmonic Hall in the latter half of August. This building will become a new city landmark, a heart of a future new municipal district. The Vltava Philharmonic Hall will also launch and accelerate the transformation of one Prague’s largest brownfields: the Bubny-Zatory redevelopment zone for which it will provide a new urban centre. The construction of the Vltava Philharmonic Hall will perpetuate Prague’s international reputation as a cultural capital.

The launch of the latest book, Lo nuevo de nuevo. Bienal y arquitectura en Chile, by editors Fernando Portal, Fernando Carvajal, Pedro Correa, and Rayna Razmilic, will take place on September 7 at 5:30 PM via the Ediciones ARQ Facebook Live page.

Organized by OTEC Cultura y territorio / Universidad San Sebastián, this event is a conversation with Miguel Lawner, winner of the 2019 National Architecture Prize, on "Core Guidelines for Teaching Social Housing."

European Housing Innovation Awards are part of the Europe Housing Forum. The main objective of this contest is to showcase and reward meaningful initiatives that contribute to solutions for affordable housing in Europe.

This would be a collection of essays, images, sketches, renderings, thoughts or even architectural photography along with author's commentary.

The Award was designed and conceived by the After the Damages International Academy, and aims to recognise the fundamental importance of the players involved in the processes that characterise all the phases of a disastrous event, with the aim of identifying and rewarding designers from the private and public sector, social cooperatives, bodies and institutions that have initiated virtuous processes towards the territory and communities, through projects, completed and uncompleted works, national and international social cooperation, experiences in territorial governance, research in technological and management fields, interventions on the landscape and the soil, on existing built heritage or newly built works.

Project Pardis Design Committee is calling for architectural concept design to build an Iranian Community Center (Pardis) in the Greater Seattle area.
