The book 'El dominio de la envolvente. La transformación de la fachada profunda' (Mastering the Envelope: The Transformation of the Deep Façade) highlights the spatial and technical exploration surrounding the development of the building envelope in representative examples of Colombian modern architecture. Through documentary and historical research, the book presents a timeline that intersects projects, figures, and events that influenced the transformation of the façade. This intentional perspective reveals specific strategies adopted by various architects across different cities in the country, while simultaneously uncovering the defining characteristics of local modern architecture.
This book compiles the reflections of four academics from various national universities on the city, urbanism, public space, mobility, and transportation. It is the result of "Conversaciones al costado del camino," a series of interviews developed by Corporación Pedaleable in collaboration with Ediciones de Arquitectura in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. This traveling exhibition celebrates the work of the Portuguese architect, who turned 90 this month, featuring photographs of the Iberê Camargo Foundation in Porto Alegre—his only project in Brazil.
