His famous experimentation with concrete&nbsp;gave rise&nbsp;to projects like the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.archdaily.com/496202/ad-classics-los-manantiales-felix-candela/" target="_blank">Los Manantiales restaurant</a>&nbsp;in the Xochimilco area of&nbsp;<a href="http://www.archdaily.com/tag/mexico-city/" target="_blank">Mexico City</a>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.archdaily.com/158000/ad-classics-cosmic-rays-pavilion-felix-candela/" target="_blank">Cosmic Rays Pavilion</a>&nbsp;for the National Autonomous University of Mexico.</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p>Twenty-four teams from <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/tag/washington-dc" target="_blank">Washington, DC</a>-based architecture and design firms participated in <a href="http://go.nbm.org/site/Calendar/295729932?id=120649&amp;utm_medium=website&amp;utm_source=archdaily.com&amp;view=Detail" target="_blank">CanstructionDC</a> 2015 at the <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/tag/national-building-museum" target="_blank">National Building Museum</a>, building transportation-themed sculptures out of canned food. At the end of the display, the sculptures will be dismantled and the food will be donated to local hunger relief organizations.
