The transformation of Bellerivestrasse 36 into a contemporary, climate-friendly office building by C.F. Møller Architects is an excellent example of the firm's commitment to improving the lives of users and the planet. Located in a prime setting on the shores of Lake Zürich, this 1974 outdated office building was modernized to meet contemporary sustainability standards without sacrificing its architectural heritage. The project's most significant achievement is its integration of sustainable practices with aesthetic and social value, turning the formerly closed structure into a vibrant, energy-efficient workplace.

The new University Children's Hospital lies in Zürich-Lengg, at the foot of a hill known as Burghölzli. It is adjacent to other hospital buildings from several eras and is the largest facility for children and adolescents in Switzerland. It consists of two buildings: the acute-care hospital and the research and teaching facility. The acute-care hospital to the south consists of a three-story concrete frame with intricate wooden infills that blend into the landscape. The interior functions like a town: the medical specialties are neighborhoods with squares and connecting streets. On each of the three floors, a central main street runs past various green courtyards that provide orientation and bring daylight into the building. The patients' rooms on the roof are like individual cottages.

Zurich, Negrelli Bridge and the dense railway network. Together they emit a remarkable inviting charm, despite its cold industrial character. One term comes to mind - industrial warmth - dirty old town. Is the bridge a place to be? Why not. A sunset on the bridge is just as spectacular as in the Swiss Alps. You just trade the mountain backdrop for a variety of concrete facades and the view of trains accelerating through the onset of dusk, as if trying to escape the darkness and catch up with the dissolving day. The two area developments Zollstrasse and Europaallee densify Zurich’s city centre along the edges of the railway track field. As a path across the open track area, the Negrellisteg provides unobstructed views and a superordinate orientation within the urban fabric. The Negrellisteg links the network of paths between city districts 4 and 5, while at the same time offering a unique opportunity to experience the crossing of the tracks as a brief pause for breath and a view against the backdrop of a remarkable urban panorama. The bridge is a further landmark in the track field, which emphasises its symbolic nature through its clear design amidst the flickering of the numerous railway installations.

Traditional functional planning models can no longer adequately capture the complex interrelationships and different influencing factors. A new, holistic understanding of urban planning that considers the interactions of sustainable design principles and can enhance the quality of life in cities is required. This should develop visionary approaches that anticipate and address future needs and challenges.

As part of the 2012/2020 Real Property Strategy, the ETH decided to build a new center for the departments of health sciences and technology, information technology, and electrical engineering at the site of the hydraulic engineering, hydrology and glaciology research institute (VAW), holding a competition in 2010/2011 for this building which is now referred to by the abbreviation GLC.

A simple, sculptural building forms the striking western end of the VBZ / ERZ facility in Hardau. In order to leave as much space as possible for the future development of the area, the interventions concentrate on the southern layer of the perimeter and thus on the alignment of the existing parking garage. By combining the salt silo and the trough system with the office wing, free space on Bullingerstrasse is created and traffic optimized.

In addition to its core mission of connecting daylight experts and encouraging creativity and innovation, the Daylight Academy seeks to disseminate knowledge and create awareness of the impact daylight can have on human and nature. This series of online talks is part of this ongoing effort and is intended for non-specialists, citizens, students, and stakeholders interested in daylight research.

This year, the Daylight Awareness Week takes us on a long and fascinating journey to explore how light travels from the sun into our cells. A
