Vanke Xi An Club is located on the shore of Fuxian Lake in Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, with a wide view and superior landscape resources. With a construction area of 4,740 square meters, the project consists of functional spaces such as a swimming pool, a yoga room, a gym center, a library, an art gallery, and one coffee shop.

Background. The project locates in Luchong Area at Cheng River beside the Fuxian Lake in Yunnan Province. In order to protect the water quality of Fuxian Lake, the local government gradually relocated the lakeside residential areas. The relocation led to the demolition of the old houses, which also provided the opportunities for recycling of brick and tile materials in this project. The following articlefocuses on the renovation strategies of three-story frame brick buildingsand newly-built the Floating House, the ClayScreen, the Bamboo Pavilion, the Rain Pavilion, the Tile Pavilions, the Slope Pavilionand the original walls withslight renovation. All of these present the output of renovation strategies, The eight rural construction styles emphasize thinking and analysis on renovation strategies of rural architecture.

This case is YUXI NO. 1 KINDERGARTEN GUISHAN BRANCH (hereinafter referred to as Guishan Kindergarten). Its predecessor was the Youth Sports College of Yuxi City, Yunnan Province (hereinafter referred to as the Junior Sports School) with a history of 45 years. As one of the important livelihood projects for Yuxi City to welcome the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party and to respond to the "14th Five-Year Plan" urban renewal strategy, it eliminates large demolition and construction, releases children's characteristics, and penetrates ecological nature in the renovation and reconstruction, and interprets the new significance of public kindergartens in the practice of urban idle educational assets reuse.
