Cornered against a protected forest, on a gentle slope that overlooks a lush botanical garden, there is a bold infrastructure, a mute monument, almost without memory, function and scale. The building is meant to host culinary activities; from intimate, informal dines to large social events. Supported by a generous specialized kitchen totally buried underground, the building challenges the archetype of an open plan.

A request came in for a house on a high piece of land, deep in a forest. The location was a place called Sudaewool in Munho-ri, SeoJong-myeon, consisting of two plots designated as a residential development complex. The clients were a couple who run a mid-sized company, and the house was intended to be a retreat for the couple and their employees. For the couple, it would serve as a weekend home; for the employees, it would function as a "stay"—a place to stop by and rest for a while.

The site is located in Yangpyeong, near the main train station. Development in this downtown area is haphazard and without a meaningful urban context. Our building lies upon a long patch of natural land by a major intersection, with a maximum building-to-land ratio of 20%. The site is irregular in shape, with no clear front side. Our goal was to create a simple but dignified mass that attracts people. Therefore the positioning of the building and its core was key to this project.

Travel has a premise of ‘return’, When we come back, the home welcomes us. So, the trip is the ideal and the house is the reality. The excitement of the travel becomes the peaceful hormone at home. as people die, their bodies are buried at the home, so the instinct of the return is natural thing. The home, that is warm, cozy, and protective, is the best condition for us. The home grows with people. The new house is very clean like new shoes, but still strange and uncomfortable.

A curved space and a three-pronged space - Two houses starting from one parcel use the same area, the same cost, the same materials, and the same vocabulary, but the methodology that reveals the characteristics of the space starts differently. Depending on the layout on the site, each building responds differently, but it is developed in different ways depending on the relationship with the road and the surrounding site.

Glassohuse Laboratory is located in the middle of a quiet residential area and farmland, which is relatively rare for tourists in Yangpyeong. It is a space where research is conducted on the development of herbs, extraction of important components, and methods of using the extract.

The site is located on Yangpyeong North Han riverside and is seated on the field with low mountains in the back. The mountains bring about horizontality of the landscape, thus the building is designed in horizontal and straight form to emphasize the shape of mountains.

The site of Hotel Doban is located in the middle of the village, Byeonsan-ri, deeply in Baekbyonbong Mountain looking down the South Han River and the downtown of Yangpyeong. All sides around the terraced landscape, which are surrounded by the ridge led from Baekbyonbong, enclose a quiet retreat like a folding screen. The end of the ridge and the earth of the terraced slope open far toward the South Han River and Yangpyeong city, such as standing on the mountain observatory, to provide a resting place overlooking the complicated everyday lives.
