1.Background
Liangxi Medical Industrial Park is located on the banks of the Grand Canal, positioning itself as a comprehensive medical device industrial park that integrates manufacturing, processing, research and development, and exhibition. After completion, it will promote the development of related industrial clusters and assist Wuxi in forging an "industrial city core" and high-quality development. As the first industrial high-rise project in an industrial area, designers hope that the new building can not only meet basic functions, but also present the style of the times, promoting the upgrading of the area.

Reconstruction of Urban Memory on the Public Shoreline of the Grand Canal. Background. In May 2022, the renovation and upgrading plan for the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal (Wuxi section) was completed, proposing a design strategy of gradual implementation of "renovation, revegetation, connection, revitalization, and empowerment". In 2023, Liangxi District of Wuxi City launched the construction of the waterfront space in the Beitang Street section. The entire project is about 3.6 kilometers long. The starting point is at Jieguan Pavilion Alley on Beitang Street, and the end point is the planned and under-construction Beijian Park. It is a waterfront green corridor connecting Beijian Park and the park belt along the ancient city moat.

The Concept WRRF Yixing is a future-oriented Water Resource Recovery Facility & factory. The project aims to upgrade conventional sewage treatment plants to environmentally friendly and recycling-oriented plants. Alleviating the Not-in-my-backyard effect, the upgrade will transform a closed pollution-control plant into a sustainable and future-oriented infrastructure project that is environmentally friendly, open to the public, harmonious with its neighborhood, and available for science education. The site of the project, surrounded by waters and farmlands, abounds with ecological resources. In the 8-hectare site for the plant, 20,000 square meters of structures have been built, including a sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 20,000 t/d, a sludge & OM treatment center with a capacity of 100 t/d, a science management center (5234 m2) and a pilot zone for experimental lines.

Yixing, a city in Jiangsu Provence, is in the Jiangnan region on the south bank of the Yangtze River, approximately 150 km west of Shanghai. It is known historically as a thriving area that produces pottery of traditional tea bowls and utensils. The family of the client (owner of the building), Mr. Gao, has been involved in pottery for generations in the area, and after he studied pottery in Japan, he opened a pottery studio in Beijing and then returned to his hometown, Yixing, where he established a ceramics studio and pottery school.

Chinese cities are experiencing unprecedented changes. After about 40 years rapid construction, what follows is the renewal and reconstruction of those prompt construction products. On the one hand, it is to make up for the quality defects caused by speed, and on the other hand, it is to face the dynamic adjustment of rapidly changed daily life. Rapid construction has met people's basic functional needs, while the current adjustment bears meanings of both function and spirit. Public buildings take a substantial leading role. Relying on upgrading functions and forms, they reconstruct the critical nodes of the city and then bring new changes in a larger area and boost the quality of urban space. The relocation of the Liutan Agricultural Trade Market is a typical improvement experiment, a crucial-livelihood guarantee and a critical step to upgrade and adjust the space quality of the whole Liutan area.

The large-scale limestone mining in the early years left a magical landscape in Qinglongshan Park, and now it has become a unique landscape resource of Qinglongshan Park. With the help of unique topography and landforms, the multi-function hall and waterfall pavilion form an embrace, and together with the towering boulders in the west, control and shape the core space scene of the park. The single building design strengthens the connection between the city and the landscape, man and nature.

Recently, the two technological achievements have been successfully applied in the actual printing/construction of a model house for low-income housing in Africa, resulting in a genuine 3D printed concrete building being completed at the Experimental Base of Wuxi Research Institute of Applied Technologies Tsinghua University.

Located in the town of Xu Xiake, Jiangyin City, China, and adjacent to the Xu Xiake hometown and Xu Xiake Expo Park, with deep historical and cultural heritage and rich ecological wetland resources, the base is the spiritual home of global explorers. The site of the exhibition center is located in the Xu Xiake Expo. How to deal with the relationship between this case and the Xu Xiake's former residence, the Xiake House and the Xu Xiake Museum is the primary issue to resolve.

In this design, we had the chance to grasp even more accurately the owner’s requests and taste , also combining the new building with the corporate culture. As the R&D center of the company, the building undertakes the technical research and development work of the whole group. Xinsu Group has just completed a new large-scale merger and acquisition. The R&D departments originally belonging to different companies must work together in this new R&D center. Therefore, achieving smooth communication between R&D personnel of different departments through harmonious coexistence of architecture, landscape and environment has become the focus of this design.

Huishan Transportation Center and the earlier built high-speed railway station become the new center of Huishan District, which play a significant role in the overall cityscape. The project is in a moderate scale with about 7000m² floor area. Besides serving as bus terminal, the transportation center is also the power station as well as an administration office for the railway station.
