The project starts from the partial recovery of an existing 70 square meter house, removing all the interior partitions of its structure, turning it into a common space - integrating kitchen, dining room, and living room: building the negative, transforming the existing built mass into a volume of air for the new house.

The main luxury of this project is that it was commissioned by its future residents, and not solely for commercial purposes. As architects, we were able to plan the building thinking about its architectural quality and the quality of life for its clients. On the 1,450 m2 plot, there was a house, and the initial lines for this project aimed to fit, as much as possible, the concept and image of a house. This includes its scale, way of life, relationship with the ground, and relationship with neighbors.

The challenge of the proposal was to articulate the entire program required for an office through a simple layout, expanding the spatial sensation of the interior through views of the city. The office program includes private spaces (offices), open common areas (terraces and meeting rooms), and enclosed service areas (storage rooms and restrooms). The layout was organized around a core concept: all enclosed areas were placed in a central core, leaving all private offices along its perimeter, and ending at both extremes with the open common areas, the meeting rooms, and the terrace.

There are many reasons why we can find plant species inside an architectural space and in almost every one of them is evident the desire of architecture to differentiate itself from the plant and reduce it, at best, to ornamentation contained in an autonomous device called building. Hiding in the process all traces of a common origin. The museum room is one of these places where architecture strives to hide its natural reality in order to become a curtain that hides behind it everything, we think we know. Where the planet disappears to make room only for representations of it.
