The Caffè Nazionale, designed by AMAA, embraces the city: the restoration of this historic venue in Arzignano, Northern Italy, is a multifaceted project that draws upon existing elements and memories to create a vibrant, living palimpsest. AMAA designed the Caffè Nazionale by establishing a direct relationship with the city of Arzignano, Italy, and its public spaces. The historical traces, with which the project engages in a deeply creative dialogue, generate a layered depth that AMAA has emphasized through a series of spatial elements acting as theatrical backdrops. The studio, founded by Marcello Galiotto and Alessandra Rampazzo, envisioned an intense, collaborative intervention, with artist partnerships culminating in an open and multifaceted creation.

The 39:39 edition of Camposaz will be in collaboration with Urbana Cooperativa Sociale, the promoter of the In-Mobility project which develops the themes of urban regeneration, sustainable mobility and social animation in 5 high schools in the Province of Vicenza. The objective of the workshop is to create 5 hubs based on a modular system which will be installed in the schools involved in the project. The hubs will have a social aggregation function, support for sustainable mobility (bike repair station) and teaching. The themes will be better defined by the outputs obtained during the workshops conducted with the students

When their client was ready for what she called “home” for fifty-five years to change, the designers elected to implement a natural process of adjustment and way-finding for the vision impaired woman to navigate her new space.

Located on the outskirts of Vicenza and only 3km from Piazza dei Signori, Corte Bertesina is a typical, rural, nineteenth century Venetian courtyard connected to a 17-hectare country estate with certified organic gardens of vegetables, grains and fodder. The gardens are protected inside a vast area planted in 2001 with trees native to the Po Valley. Since 2010, the estate also functions as a social farming center, offering job opportunities to young people with Down Syndrome.

This place is inspiring, full of suggestions and references. It can be reached through a narrow slope derived from the construction of an embankment. At the rear of the property, the land becomes more and more steep, where you will encounter a first high embankment that defines the property to the south. A second embankment just above the first and the third very high wall that defines the property to the north and an alternation of flat and sloping areas. Looking at the territory you understand immediately that this image coincides with the construction of the landscape in a succession of walls and meadows, woods and hills to draw up the slope to the plain.

In celebration of the 50^th Anniversary of Richard Meier’s architecture career, Richard Meier & Partners Architects, in collaboration with the Fondazione Bisazza from Italy, are presenting the first Richard Meier Retrospective in Europe, titled 'Richard Meier - Architecture and Design'. Taking place May 8-July 28, the new exhibition will be a retrospective of the American architect’s iconic work and the unveiling of a site-specific installation for the Foundation’s permanent collection. Meier’s oeuvre is a reflection of the continuous search and analysis of concepts perfected over more than half a century of constant work in the field of architecture and design.
