The house is located in a subdivision inside a natural forested area. The property has neighbors on each side barely three meters apart, while the rear side is next to an oak tree reservation where the view is narrowed only a few meters away because of the trunks and canopies’ density.

Casa Mate is located on a lot to the south of the city of Guadalajara. It is conceived as a country house in which geometry plays a fundamental role, articulating the project through a corridor with a walled central garden that seeks to be a solid generator of privacy in each one of the interior spaces.

At the begging of the creative process, sometimes metaphors are so intimately infused in the essence of its materialization, that even if users are not sure of the threads moved for them to experience it, they manage to appreciate the result intuitively. In house EP 02 this is so subtle and prevailing, that even without knowing it, you can be watching perfectly synchronized planes landing in a straight line from the balcony, like aligned stars marking the horizon. This was achieved because the main axis of one of the 2 upper modules of the house was traced at the same angle as the landing track of the Guadalajara international airport, approximately 10 km away.

Located in the city of Guadalajara Jalisco this project meant our incursion into the commercial genre. The client commissioned us to redesign the brand of beauty salons L'OCCOCÓ, one of the largest franchises of beauty salons in Mexico. They wanted to reflect an image of elegance with the necessary character so that the clients felt identified with the brand. The exercise began by analyzing the existing salons, understanding the dynamics of use, the furniture necessary for the performance of salon activities, the flows of customers and staff and the optimal spaces to work freely. Our language had to simplify the current, to purify it, we had to identify the indispensable and readjust what could be adapted in another way. Once understanding this we proceeded to the intervention, we had to generate a typology that could be replicated to comply with the characteristics of a franchise.

The architectural concept of Filamentario Chapel is to create a processional scheme, a perimeter route that favors the preparatory gathering for religious worship; the traditional, axial and finite scheme, which ends at the altar, is reversed to create a procession that considers the altar as the center of the composition.

La Tequila South Restaurant / LOA

The restaurant is located within a shopping complex, at the southern edge of the city of Guadalajara, Mexico. The biggest challenge for the project was to rethink the aesthetic and architectural identity of a business with almost 2 decades of history. Throughout the last 18 years, La Tequila has made itself a reputation as the city’s premier destination for Mexican cuisine, and inevitably, an aura of tradition had been built around its architecture. Aside from the task of preserving and revising identity, the project sought to establish an architectural standard that would serve for replication in further openings; it was to be effected in a smaller space and had to facilitate a streamlined operation.
