The Urban Farming Home is located in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province, a young city experiencing rapid urbanization. The city is characterized as an industrial city with a dense concentration of housing, limited green spaces, and public areas for its residents. The area has a hot and humid climate similar to Ho Chi Minh City, with temperatures ranging from 22°C to 35°C throughout the year. The climate is influenced by the typical characteristics of the Southeast region, including a tropical monsoon climate with heavy rainfall from May to November and a dry season from December to April. The plot was located on a slanted road branching from a lower junction. It was surrounded by greenery and laid opposite a small park. The plot itself sloped gently at the back, which caused a level difference of about 1,5 meters. The building was designed for a 3-generation family of four (grandfather, parents and son) and was requested to have the master bedroom placed at its center, which therefore offered an overall view to the common space and the grandfather’s room on the ground floor.

We were asked to build a house for a young married couple with children that combine a separated kitchen workspace, dedicated to the family's restaurant chain called "PHỞ DẠ". Inside the land plot, they express the desire to have a family workspace that connects daily life to their work so they can directly try out and invent family recipes for the "Phở". Besides, they also seek a living space close to nature.
