The project is a renovation project which located in Xianjing Village, Baita Town, Xianju County, Zhejiang Province. From the village, one can directly overlook the Fanzeng Peak in the southwest. Relying on the beautiful natural scenery of the Shenxianju mountains, the town government hopes to transform Xianjing Village into a sketching art village. They entrusted us to renovate the abandoned primary school, hoping to attract young art students and artists to come to the village, stay and do some sketching nearby. The Youth Artist's Dormitory is named as "Qingyi Lodge".The main building of the village primary school was originally a two-story brick-concrete structure constructed in the 1970s-1980s. We hope to retain the form of the old school, but bring new life to it.

Situated in the urban core section, the project is located along the southern bank of the Jiaojiang River, to the west of the Taizhou Bay estuary. It is adjacent to the Jiaojiang Bridge, the Submarine Sightseeing Base, and Hehe Avenue.Jiaojiang's riverfront development coincides with the phase-out of industrial activities on both banks. Brownfield waterfront areas are undergoing comprehensive greening and transformation into livable spaces. Taking advantage of the opportunity to upgrade the seawall, the design transforms existing structures and spaces to foster a symbiotic relationship between public areas and the seawall. The design imbues the previously detached hydraulic infrastructure with multiple functions, integrating it into the city's everyday life.

The Huangyan Quarry Revitalization Project represents our continued focus on the socioeconomic, ecological, and cultural dimensions of post-industrial landscapes. Unlike the previous stone quarry transformations in remote rural areas of Jinyun, the Huangyan Quarry is located in a more urbanised environment adjacent to the city proper. Consequently, its programming caters to a younger demographic, evolving into a vibrant public node integrated into the city's daily rhythms. Huangyan District, part of Taizhou City in Zhejiang Province, lies at the center of Zhejiang's Golden Coast. With the airport only 26 km away and the high-speed rail station just 5.3 km away, it enjoys convenient access and strong regional connectivity. The region has abundant forests and mineral resources, and boasts three golden business cards: "Yongning, with a History of Over a Thousand Years, Origin of Chinese Oranges, and the Mold Capital".

Architectural Heritage - TaiSilk Courtyard is located in Jiazhi Street District, the Zhou Residence is a historic Jiangnan-style courtyard complex featuring a traditional three-bay main hall flanked by two wing rooms and a single-story gatehouse, collectively enclosing a central quadrangle stone courtyard. The spatial organization follows the "Main Hall-Wing Rooms" typology, with a combination of hip-and-gable and flush gable roofs, all encircled by overhanging eaves. As a representative vernacular dwelling of the Taizhou subregion in the Wu cultural area, its generous courtyard scale lends itself to conversion into public or commercial spaces. The second floor, originally used for storage or living quarters, features a central ceremonial space above the main hall. The design team developed an adaptive reuse strategy that respects the original timber structure while accommodating new programming.

Cultural Auditorium. One Design has been committed to creating a public space integrating architecture to the landscape. In 2019, we accepted the invitation from the People's Government of Pengjie Town, Luqiao District, Taizhou City to preside over the renovation of the public architecture in Xiaowufen Village, a typical village in southeast China. As the heart of the local village culture, the village hall is the symbol of the local culture and spirit. Due to the time limit during the construction of the old building, a thoroughly mining of the characteristics of the local culture was absent. To renovate it is just like a journey to discover and reinforce the culture of the old village rather than to restore a building or a piece of landscape.

Getting Up. The beginning of a design can be based on a mood. I envied the tranquility and pleasantness of this city, which is scarce in Shanghai. Suddenly, I decided there should be a cloud, calmly and slowly rising over the river. Clouds have a sophisticated and pure beauty. Rather than perform cosmetic surgery on a collage of cluttered commercial territorial façades, I decided to wrap them in a continuous white perforated aluminum panel wall. The continuous white creates a complex and pure interface on the riverside (by controlling the perforation rate, the façade creates a cloud of layers) hiding the bookstore. The aluminum wall is the façade, or it can be stripped away to become a courtyard enclosure or both. The continuous white aluminum wall is used as an addition to create a serene and pleasant visual subtraction. A cloud rises over the riverside, and the readers of the bookstore are in the cloud.

Kindergartens are the basis for individual education. The space for preparatory education is the happy world for children. It is possible for children to spend their childhood in a healthy and happy way in this kind of space so that they can learn knowledge and touch the collective life from childhood. It is hoped by us that children can gain knowledge and even lay a foundation for dreams to inspire fantasy at the first stop of children's learning.

Project Overview
TangBao (Fort Tang) Academy – Community and Civic Center is situated in the village of Tangzhuang of the town Chenbao, a part of the city of Xinhua, a city in the contemporary Jiangsu Pronvince previously known as Shaoyang or Chushui. Ancient Xinhua, a place full of cultural roots, is home to famous Chinese novelist Naian Shi and Banqiao Zhen, one of the famous Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou, thus the resulting humanistic affluence is one of the most identifying characteristics and environs. TangBao Academy builds upon the traditional cultural base of the region, seeing the base as a solid starting ground to design and construct a civic center in order to germinate century old humanistic traditions into contemporary daily village life. This unique cultural element requires the architecture to be deeply rooted in tradition, serving the present, and creating an educational and productive rural enclosure for kids, locals, and visitors alike, thus spurring more spatial possibilities for endless modern village cultural activities and events.
