Perfect meeting: location of the land, sea view, and the presence of nature. These are the elements that enchanted the couple from Studio Carlito and Renata Pascucci to build the 150m² house, whose residence is the refuge of the professionals. Privileged by its location, as it is between the mountains and the sea, on the coast of São Sebastião (SP), besides being a space for rest, it also shares the sensory experience making it for rental.

Like all projects from the office, the inspiration for this house was to find the balance between the built space and the environment. Not only with regards to the structural design in wood but also considering the local climate conditions. Large eaves mark the house's facades around its entire perimeter, protecting both the structure and the walls and windows, reducing the overall maintenance of the house. All openings were designed to create a cross-ventilation axis, allowing for greater thermal comfort inside. While the south face opens completely to the sea view, the west face is more closed off with cellular concrete masonry, except for the staircase module, which is protected by vertical brises that filter the setting sun's light that permeates the internal courtyard.

The house in Toque-Toque was designed to be a simple, flexible, and easy-to-build construction and serve as a summer residence on São Paulo’s coast. The plot is located on a steep slope covered by dense tropical forests. For this purpose, the house was placed transversely to the slope, projecting the house towards the sea, and placing it at the treetop’s height.

Located in a residential condominium in Barra do Una (a beach located near of São Paulo city), the project Pavilion Una signed by the brazilian architecture office Apiacás Arquitetos had the feasibility as a premise, considering the choice of materials and mainly focusing on the constructive details, capable of organizing the assembly system. Therefore, the structure is made up of standardized and modular elements: the foundation was executed in concrete, followed by pillars and beams in Cumaru wood, strategically placed in central axes in order to give greater freedom to the pivotal doors that make up the facade.

Comfort and building maintenance throughout the years are two fundamental aspects for houses built in tropical areas next to the sea, where the high temperatures and the effect of the sea air determine the extreme local conditions. The White House project, located on a beautiful Brazilian beach, on the northern coast of São Paulo, made these questions as determinant to organize the plan and for the selection of materials to be used.
