The Umbral Floral Pavilion was conceived to regenerate the main access path to CASACOR Peru 2026, located at the Jockey Club del Perú, transforming a circulation route into a sequence of public spaces. The proposal turns the entrance into an architectural experience, where the pathway ceases to be a mere passageway and becomes a transition between the city, nature, and the exhibition experience.

The project is located within the Ecological Park Voices for Climate, the first theme park on climate change in Latin America. In this public space, there are five pavilions that exhibit issues of importance in Peru: Forests, Mountains and Water, Oceans, Energy, and Sustainable Cities. This initiative dedicated to environmental education was promoted by the Ministry of Environment of Peru in collaboration with the Municipality of Santiago de Surco. Upon entering, visitors can observe the first public auditorium built with bamboo in Peru, which has a roofed area of more than 300 m2 with a capacity of 250 people. It is conceived as a free-access place for the organization of all kinds of events, talks, or exhibitions.

The House as a Shelter
How can a dry, rocky, steep-sloped terrain be confronted by architecture? That’s the initial question that arises out of the necessity to build a household and a work atelier in this type of setting. As an answer, we decided to intervene as little as possible with the land’s topography, as a means to balance excavations and fillers, solving the problem with a simple outline, with sections and planes.
