Located in Saint Denis, in the Greater Paris Region, the Académie Fratellini is an internationally renowned circus school, a leisure centre, and a venue for the creation and performance of shows. Following major renovation and extension work, the Académie Fratellini reopened its doors to the public in October 2025. Founded by Annie Fratellini and Pierre Étaix in 1974 and based in Saint Denis since 2003, the Académie Fratellini has undergone an ambitious restructuring and extension project led by the architecture and interior design agency Atelier du Pont. The new project is in keeping with the architectural style of the original designers, Patrick Bouchain and Loïc Julienne, preserving the atmosphere and strong identity of this lively and extraordinary place.

Dream Agency Transforms a Site Steeped in History - The architecture agency DREAM has just completed a socially impactful urban renewal project in Saint-Denis. Located on Rue Fraizier and Rue du Landy, this new residential complex marks a major step in the revitalization of the neighborhood, 24 years after a tragic fire destroyed a dilapidated building. As the first housing development under a French shared equity lease (BRS-Bail Réel Solidaire) to be delivered in Saint-Denis, the building combines architectural ambition with harmonious integration into the urban fabric.

The Aquatics Centre and its pedestrian overpass in Saint-Denis, Paris, designed by VenhoevenCS and Ateliers 2/3/4/ for Heritage, is the only permanent facility built for the 2024 Games. The Aquatics Centre emerges as a curved wooden sculpture from the Grand Paris landscape, combining technical innovations with the highest environmental credentials. With its clever configuration, limited need of materials and energy under an ultra-thin hanging roof, France’s largest urban solar farm, the arena will host 5.000 spectators for water polo, diving and artistic swimming Olympic competitions.

In this project, that chaixetmorel. realized together with real estate developer VINCI Immobilier, it was necessary to master the balancing act between preserving the existing building, creating suitable accommodation for the athletes, and then continuing to use it as offices for a ministry long after the athletes had left. Chaixetmorel. built a contemporary, innovative, and modern ensemble on an area of around 68,000m2 that houses apartments as well as service, training, and storage facilities. The architects succeeded in integrating the architecturally exciting industrial buildings from the beginning of the 20th century (the Maxwell Hall) and its engineering building (the Copernic Pavilion) into the new use. The campus is structured around them, along a strong east-west axis that forms the heart of the new site. A timber hybrid construction method was used for the new buildings. Many existing materials were reused on site (e.g. demolition concrete in the wire ballast boxes of the new plinth zone) or were taken from demolished buildings elsewhere and given a new life cycle (e.g. raised floors in the office areas). The CO2 footprint was already reduced by around 40% compared to similar projects during construction and will also result in significantly lower energy consumption during future use - first as an Olympic village and later as office space.

The origin of Gothic architecture, a style which defined Europe in the later Middle Ages, can be traced to a single abbey church in the northern suburbs of Paris. The Basilique royale de Saint-Denis (Royal Basilica of Saint-Denis), constructed on the site of an abbey and reliquary established in Carolingian (800-888 CE) times, was partially rebuilt under the administration of Abbot Suger in the early 12th Century; these additions—utilizing a variety of structural and stylistic techniques developed in the construction of Romanesque churches in the preceding centuries—would set medieval architecture on a new course that would carry it through the rest of the epoch.

In the heart of the landmarked park of the Maison d’Education de la Légion d’Honneur, aligned with the former canal now filled in, the project takes the form of a bayonet grafted onto the gable awaiting an unfinished building. This composition makes it possible for each wing to have a particular relation with the site. The East wing signals the presence of the building in the perspective of the park while the West wing is turned toward the world outside.

The school « Niki de Saint-Phalle – Petits Cailloux » is composed of a nursery with eight classrooms, a primary school with ten classrooms, a school cafeteria and a recreation centre. The building has three levels and a basement which contains a service room. For an equal allocation of the access and connections to the different units, the construction site has been divided into six parts: three outdoor (entrance, nursery playground and primary playground) and three indoor (nursery school, primary school and school cafeteria with recreation centre). From this division results a clover-shaped building that offers, in addition to convergent and economic corridors, a very good connection between the inside and the outside (many views, points of access and a very intuitive orientation)

In 2011, RAMDAM was approached by SCI «Au Bon Coin» for the redevelopment of a small occupied building, situated on the banks of the Saint-Denis canal. This early 20th century building, an emblematic canal-side structure, used to be home to the lockkeepers’ café, Au Bon Coin, famed for featuring in a Robert Doisneau photograph.
