The concept behind Casa El Arboreto arises from the desire to create an introspective space that remains connected to the surrounding nature, immersed in a forest of Arrayanes and Melíes. The challenge was to find a harmonious balance between the lush landscape and everyday domestic spaces. This balance is achieved through the use of galleries, an architectural resource deeply rooted in Chilean tradition. The galleries allow the diffused natural light filtering through the trees to enter the interior spaces, transforming the home into a showcase of the natural environment; a space that generates feelings of contemplation and refuge.

Its majestic Lake Llanquihue and the proximity to several Volcanoes and National Parks make it a must-see place to stay in the area. Winter tourism is also on the rise, and for the locals it is an attraction, a weekend getaway to a pleasant place, closer to nature, simply to disconnect and rest. For this last reason, the need to create Tiny Auro was born.

Casa Cruz (Cross House) is a housing project located on a rural site in Puerto Varas. Designed by the architects of Viento Norte, who aimed to integrate the home harmoniously and respectfully into its natural surroundings. The site features a medium-height native forest, which was a determining factor in the project. Firstly, the goal is for the house to be elevated above the ground to inhabit the height of the tree canopy. Secondly, the solution of raising the house is to achieve greater capture of natural sunlight. Finally, the project adapts to and works with the natural slope of the land, creating a relationship at different levels with the exterior.

But the shoes were to be made of stone. What's more: the stones that we took from the river, to erect the little tower in the old way, are still there thrown away, right next to the logs of wood that we finally used as supports, because with them it was easier to level and fix the base structure. We turned those stones into small monoliths that point the way to the little tower among the vegetation.

And with it, the romantic idea of living with less (less space, fewer things, and supposedly fewer problems) has come to capitalize on a wide range of content; Netflix series, Instagram accounts, and countless Pinterest boards showing tiny houses in rural landscapes have made this idea a trend. And even more, this is promoted as a vision of the future; a response to the imminent collapse of current ways of life in the city. But what happens in reality, beyond the idea?

Located on the outskirts of the city of Puerto Varas, on the edge of the Maullín River, an aquatic biological corridor recognized for its rich biodiversity that receives native and migrating species, the Keepex building emerges as both a challenge and an opportunity to develop a positive relationship between the culture of the company and its environment.

The Puerto Varas School was created in 1996, located on the outskirts of the city of the same name, on an elevated place, with hills and wide views of the fields, (on the horizon the Andes Mountain range, and below the city of Puerto Varas). Over the years it was surrounded by new real estate housing and equipment projects. However, it remains in its formative seal, the experience of living immersed in its macro context, aware of the community, the climate, and the nature that surrounds it.
