The construction of a small house on a very small plot of 80.00m2, located next to the city park in Ovar, made it possible to solve a 2-bedroom typology, with very controlled areas and developed in a type of construction that was intended to be flexible and adaptable, in a certain adaptation of the request to the area of the existing land.

The former abandoned existing building located in Ovar, although in an advanced state of disrepair, revealed a high consolidation perspective, that came from the maintenance of its simple existing structure, such as it was. Structurally the building was not in bad condition, having only the necessity of repair and replace some wooden elements of the roof structure.

The arrival at the house is characterised by two exposed concrete walls which surround the building, both hiding and sheltering it. Access is established via a ramp covered by a canopy which extends from the house until the gate, set against an iron pillar.

The project, while maintaining the relations of the preexisting building with the street, adds a new building, formally characterized by its curvilinear geometry which is able to create conditions for the development of the school program while rebalancing all the terrain lines and angles. The different functions are articulated in two buildings (old and new), characterized by the different architectural objectives (rehabilitation and new construction) and the different school program requirements to receive children from the age of three to ten years old.
