This is a small family house standing next to the railway yard. We chose a rough brown plaster for exterior finish. which refer to the rail rust color. The recessed facade was determined by view effects from surroundings. When you walk around the site, this building will give you several differential perspectives. The size of the windows was determined carefully and sound proof glass has been installed. We simply made each room at each floor for maximize the interior space.

This combined home, gallery, and workspace is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in Tokyo. The clients, a married couple, came to us with several requests, including rooms where each of them could work undisturbed; a place for exhibiting artwork by the husband, an artist, and for enjoying music and conversation with guests; and a spatial design that took the thermal environment into account.

After the big earthquake in Japan on March 3, 2011, the client inherited a sunny plot of land in a residential suburb of Tokyo, Japan. The destruction that was caused by the earthquake forced the client to spend a short period of time living in isolation and as a result, the client is now intent on designing, for the purpose of a peaceful life, a residential apartment for himself and his tenants.
