Observing the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Mendoza, we can attest that we are in the presence of a building that constitutes a paradigmatic case in the context of the 1960s in Argentina.

The project is located in a suburban neighborhood in Mendoza province, Argentina. The program considers the design of two houses for two young sisters on a plot of irregular morphology. The proposals had to be harmonious with each other, as well as unique since each of them had to respond to the desires, needs, and different materialities required. A joint implementation study is carried out and basic parameters are highlighted such as orientation, use of the land, and the link or articulation between both projects.

Urban environment. The DCA project is located in a very small lot of 105m2 of surface, in one of the most traditional residential areas of the City of Mendoza, whose urban environment consists mainly of buildings from the 60's and 70's located proximal to the General San Martín Park, the largest lungs in the city. The proposal comprises a continuity of the neighboring facades observing the existing buildings throughout the block. Thus, the morphology achieved follows the immediate urban environment, accounting for both pedestrian and vehicular needs.

It is a small apartment building for rent, located in the Fifth Section of the city of Mendoza, a well-defined fringe of the city, near to the General San Martin Park, with traditional houses that are lately changing to higher buildings up to 12m. In front of the building there is a small park, the Fire Headquarters and the Historical Archives Square, both forming a set of old trees.

The house is situated on a flat land of 1,500 square meters in a residential area within the city of Mendoza, Argentina. A typical continental climatic zone, with large weather amplitudes between stations where natural breeze comes mostly from the South.
