The Maia City Council promotes, in March and April 2023, this year's edition of Maia Architecture Month - an event dedicated entirely to architecture in the territory of Maia.

Titled “IN PROCESS”, this exhibition intends to emphasize the moment of significant and imminent transformation - likely unrepeatable, undergoing in this city and its overall territory.

The works produced in this edition will be presented to the public essentially in two formats: an exhibition and a parallel program of events – presentations, debates and exhibition tours – that will allow clarifying

The house “Cidade da Maia” is located in the corner of Vila Alegre Street and Ferreira de Castro Street, in the city of Maia. The implantation was already defined on the allotment license and that’s determined the backrest to the blind facade of the building on the East side, leaving three facades free to North, South and West side.

This Friday, March 8, there will be a series of Debates with free entry and with the presence of the guests of the 2nd Edition of the Month of Architecture of Maia that hosts the exhibition "Fast Forward", which will be patent up to March 31, curated by the architect Andreia Garcia (Atelier Andreia Garcia Architectural Affairs).

The debates seek to think about the future of the city of Maia, reflecting on the proposals of a group of emerging architects, already internationally recognized, and architectural critics who were invited to imagine, expose, discuss, reflect and revise the architecture of the city.

The building was designed as a large dark volume, to contain four commercial spaces each one with about 100 m2 divided over 2 floors. The main entry of the stores is located on the upper floor, at street level. This elevation is designed as a large glazed area where punctually the weathering steel structures appears marking all the entrys.
