In 2020, Atelier Guy architects designed the new head office and factory for Smartmill, a company that conceives next-generation automated systems for the wood-processing industry. The main aim of the project was to create a building with an all-timber structure, in line with the company’s vision, and to offer spaces that would not only be functional, but also comfortable, bright and friendly. The use of local wood and products at several levels of the project bears witness to the company's vision by concretely transposing its values into its new head office.

Located in the borough of Pintendre on the outskirts of Lévis, the new 1,500 sq. m. fire station houses eight fire trucks. The concept developed by the architects began with a splitting of the station’s functions, which can be seen by the different volume heights between the garage and the living spaces.

The former head office of Caisse Desjardins de Lévis in the Galeries Chagnon shopping center lacked natural light and was ill-adapted to the financial institution’s needs. This led the Caisse to relocate to the Desjardins campus. It was also an opportunity to bring together in one location a number of service outlets, including the Caisse de Bienville.

Built in the city’s centre, near a residential area, the old Water Treatment Plant was substantially renovated and doubled in size. The new 4,700m2 building presented several challenges, including maintaining full operations during construction and integrating an industrial building into an existing residential environment.
