Casa de Pedro y María Guesthouse / Ad Urbis Arquitectos

Built in the 19th century, the building belongs to the simple single-family housing typology and is located in an area of high heritage value. It occupies a narrow lot where the first bays feature the living room as the sole space, which preserves its original gabled wood roof. A previous restoration process carried out by architect Universo Garcia focused on rescuing the building's original elements, such as the woodwork and wall finishes.

Located barely a few meters from Havana Bay, the studio for Santa Clara residence involved a complex research process. This process was mainly focused on discovering the rules to follow within the regulatory framework in the area, all of which allowed us later to add two levels above the original structure of the building.

The Cuban National Schools of Arts, originally imagined by Castro and Che Guevara, are perhaps the largest architectural achievements of the Cuban Revolution. The innovative design of the schools, which aimed to bring cultural literacy to the nation, encapsulated the radical, utopian vision of the Revolution.
