Nestled within Pridi Banomyong neighborhood, City Fresh was a regular row house that has been transformed into a space that welcomes fruit lovers. The venue is somewhat of a destination in which groups of people with common interests can gather, exchange, and share. Space on the first level has been prepared for brief and small meetings. There are temporary seatings with a wide variety of curated fruits and fresh home-grown salads to choose from. House of Fruits incorporates different low-key transparent materials within a structure to add natural light into the space and build layers that bring about comfortable visual textures. Clear glass panels in the front interchangeably establish connection and cohesivity among the architecture and its adjacencies. Open space on the first level concurrently helps link and draw circulation from the first to the upper levels.

The new ‘Design in Motion office’ has been constructed on the land where is planned to add one more building in the future, therefore this new office building had to be built merely on half of the land for supporting that plan. Because of that, this office was set in the vertical direction as a three-story building within the boundary of 10 by 10 meters. The building is also placed adjacent to one edge of the land on one side, and on the other side is prepared to connect to the future building with a large balcony on the upper floor.

Behind the Design. From the micro-lot mountain beans to PAGA a micro-roastery in the heart of the city, each coffee bean contains a valuable journey its covers to reach the cup. The journey begins at the cultivation, coffee beans are carefully grown in sustainable practice in preserving the forest environment with the knowledge and heedfulness of farmers to produce coffee to the best of their ability. Being hand-picked and sorted, the beans are then placed on raised beds to be dried by the golden rays of the sun before the flavor complexity and taste characteristic of beans get developed in roasting stage by experienced roasters. Lastly, the beans are executed into specialty coffee experience through the creativity of baristas.

Concept Design: District 8. The building is a 6 story mixed-use project, comprising of office spaces for a TV broadcast company and a penthouse residence on the top 2 floors. The program is to relocate the owner’s office to this new location along with owner’s residence on the top 2 levels. The area of the building is designed to be just under 2,000 sq.m. and 23 building height limit to apply minimum set back since the site is very small with 2 roads around the corner. Design Approach, as usual, we try to operate and organized all the factors, such as the building functions, spaces and site context and let them play their parts. As the result, we get a wedged gable roof shape with different height at the ridge line from split levels on the top part. We just let each parts come and play their roles and not too overwhelmed. We keep them organized with simplicity of form with multiple textures or details and materials.

Baan 33 Apartment began as an architectural design experiment of the spatial relationship between a mix-use programmatic requirement of a six-bedroom private residence and four service apartment units. Due to the surrounding urban context and the requirement provided by the owner, the overall architectural zoning are strategically organized to provide all occupants with the highest amount of privacy, while still have a close connection to the natural environment.
