Straw Stack Space is located in Houhu Art Park in Changsha, Hunan Province, which is a special 'village in the middle of the city' in Changsha that grew up spontaneously, located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain, and in the centre of the university town. Since the 1950s, the Houhu Art Park has become a unique cultural landmark in Changsha through its history of fisheries, art training and art exhibitions. And, Straw Stack Space is a small community cultural complex in Houhu Lake, integrates exhibitions, art salons, music performances and cultural and creative exchanges.

In the fall of 2024, we were invited by a calligraphy brand to collaborate on a stationery-related commercial space project they planned to launch in Changsha. A massive green roof supported by a huge column looks like a canopy, making it almost impossible for anyone to ignore this extraordinary and enormous storefront.

The stream winds down from the main peak of the Lianyun Mountains, carves out a wide triangle of land in Jinkeng Village, and continues flowing southwards after a big bend. In the rice fields in front, villagers sow Chinese astragalus seeds every spring. The flowers that bloom will become fertilizer for the rice this season after they wither. The Spark Lodges were conceived and formed under such a background - we hope that they are not only the seeds of beauty, but also the beauty itself, and as well the beginning of the next beautiful period.

The demand for youthful services in red tourist attractions. The project is located at the foot of Tianhua Mountain Scenic Area in Qingshanpu Town, Changsha County, Hunan Province. The scenic area is a 4A-level red tourist attraction, but the current supporting facilities are not perfect and lack attractiveness to young people. Therefore, the town government approached us, hoping that we could come up with a low-cost and attractive coffee and book shop plan that can attract young people to check in; On the other hand, because the project is located in the core area of the red scenic area, the appearance of the project must be coordinated and consistent with the local residences, which poses a core challenge for the design: how to balance the traditional style requirements of the "red" scenic area while also meeting the "internet celebrity" needs of young people? Simultaneously solving all buildings, interiors, soft furnishings, and landscapes within a cost of several hundred thousand yuan?

Project overview. Changsha International Conference Center is situated in the High-speed Railway New Town of Changsha City, overlooking Changshanan Railway Station across a river, and adjacent to Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center to its south. The project covers a land area of about 212,700 square meters and a gross floor area of around 170,000 square meters, of which the above-ground space occupies 136,000 square meters, while the underground section spans 44,000 square meters. The building measures approximately 300 meters from north to south, 150 meters from east to west, and has a height of 46.8 meters. It consists of three floors above ground and one underground floor. The conference center has 60 conference halls and rooms capable of accommodating up to 10,500 people. It includes a main venue that features a column-free space spanning about 7,800 square meters, a roundtable conference hall covering about 1,800 square meters, a banquet hall encompassing about 3,400 square meters, and a roof garden spanning 6,000 square meters. It stands as the largest conference center in central China.

HPP won the international design competition of this project in 2014. As Hunan's largest TV program production center, it is the leading project of the Malanshan Cultural and Creative Area and also a new city landmark, a new hub for cultural creativity, and a new tourist attraction in Hunan Province.

Most supermarkets in China adopt the conventional spatial model based on efficiency but often lack a memorable character. Commissioned by Fresh Mart, a new brand established in Changsha, to design its store identity, Lukstudio has reinterpreted elements from common Chinese markets and street booths, giving the familiar typology an unfamiliar facelift.

The innovation hunan conference center project is located in hunan university student science and technology industrial park, high-tech zone of ningxiang city, hunan province. The east side of the base is the park square, the northeast side is the comprehensive building, the south side is the entrepreneurship plant, the west side is the incubator building, and the northeast side is the mountain park. Construction land is extremely tight. The length of the site is about 72 meters in the north-south direction and 31 meters in the east-west direction.

Zhibai Design Research Office intends to create a comfortable office space, and use the tonality of space to reflect the design idea of “Knowledge White”. White is nothing, white is white, white is empty. Just as Richard Meyer understands white, white is a symbol of purity, transparency, and perfection. White is rich, contains all colors, can best enjoy the performance of light and shadow, and express the spatial structure more clearly. In the original 8.5M*8.5M building standard column spanning unit modulus space, the basic geometry of the block insertion and cutting method is divided to form different functional areas and accommodate multiple functions in a small space block. Different spatial styles create different spatial feelings, satisfying the use of space and also integrating brand meaning.

The project Tianma new Campus of Hunan University is located in the Yuelu Mountain University Research Park with a site area of 18.96h㎡. The building sits in between Tianma Mountain and Yuelu Mountain on its east and west, borders the old campus to the north and Tianma student apartment to the south, where the wild nature and social activities co-exists. The new campus masterplan, a complementary extension to the old campus, was launched in 2003 and completed in 2016 after twist and turns.

AGA Architects have designed a new mixed-use development which is currently under construction in the Hong Xing district of Changsha, China. The project is set to become the first prototype of a combined leisure park and shopping mall in the country. A mix of retail, office, residential and hotel space is interspersed with "joyful" elements such as a sky walking corridor, 360-degree restaurant and a sky pool which overlooks the complex. Integrated landscape and a focus on sustainability transform the center into what the architects call a "green park mall."
