The Purunã House / Isla Arquitetura, Interiores e Design

The Purunã House gets this name due to its location on the top of the rocky slope of the Devonian Escarpment (Escarpa Devoniana), at the end of a long rural road in São Luiz do Purunã (Parana, Brazil). The main idea of the project was to create a place of retreat and family gatherings. Its implantation is part of a decision to utilize the conditions and singularity of the relief as a project opportunity to build a panoramic experience of the mountainous region.

Refuge in Bugre / Bruno Zaitter Arquitetura e Urbanismo

This refuge is located on a farm in the metropolitan region of the city of Curitiba in southern Brazil. The shelter is based on a retaining wall made of “madeira rosa” stone from the Rio de Janeiro region. On one side there is a concrete terrace for a “fogo de chão”, and on the other side a garden of tropical plants that blend with the native vegetation of the site.

The Purunã Observatory, located in the Metropolitan Region of the City of Curitiba, is a place intended for viewing the universe in a didactic way. This was the dream of a space-loving photographer and his natural phenomena come true in that building.

This project is part of the accommodation group of a hotel in the municipality of Balsa Nova in southern Brazil. Implanted about 200 meters from a geological fault where it is possible to see great part of the “Serra do Mar”, the Bosque Refuge is attached to an arboreal massif of native Atlantic forest. Surrounded by important natural elements, the project opens to nature by two large glass planes, characterizing it as a link between nature and the man-made refuge.

Located in the region known as Campos Gerais of the state of Paraná in Brazil, the Refúgio da Cainã is one of the accommodations of a farm hotel located exactly in the area of a geological fault called the “Escarpa Devoniana”. With a privileged view in the foreground of the vast native forest, on the horizon is possible to see the city of Curitiba and the mountains, distant about 50km and 120km respectively.
