The site covers an area totaling 330,000 m2 and takes about three hours to look around in its entirety. The park includes architecture by Alvaro Siza, Seung h-sang (IROJE), Wook Choi, Matsunobu Kawagishi, and Jung Young-sun ( landscape architect)

Background
Weishan Chongzheng Academy Bookstore of Librairie Avant-Garde is located in the west corner of Weishan Ancient Town in Dali, Yunnan. Weishan is the birthplace of the ancient Nanzhao Kingdom, and has a history of over 600 years. It still preserves the urban layout of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Chongzheng Academy was built during the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty with a history of more than 500 years, and has gone through several twists and turns. In 2021, TAO was invited by the local government and Librairie Avant-Garde to repair and renovate Chongzheng Academy, transforming it into a bookstore with comprehensive functions including bookstore, exhibition, small theatre, coffee, etc. and hoping to awaken the former prosperity and vitality of the place. The design task also includes the urban design of the surrounding area. By inviting new programs, the design aims to create a new lifestyle destination that encourages everyday public participation throughout the year, bringing a positive effect to the regeneration of the old town.

The project is located within Ensheng Wetland Park atop Wutong Mountain in Yantian District. Here, on one side lies the summit landscape of the Ensheng Wetland with Wutong Mountain, and on the other stretches the seemingly endless seascape of Yantian Port, reminiscent of "mystical mountains beyond the sea," alongside the continuously stacked containers within the port itself. The wonders of nature and human artifice are presented here almost simultaneously. The client's brief was clear: this pavilion must offer a view of the sea. This inspired a broader aspiration: to create a "space" where one can enjoy 360-degree panoramic views. Concurrently, we set ourselves a requirement: the presence of the architecture must not disturb the natural ground.

The site is located in Xialang Village, and the village lives up to its name – the Lanshi River meanders down from the folds of Luofu Mountain, flowing past the site and stirring up layers of waves. Our first site visit took place at the end of the Spring Festival, but winter is not the "wave season" for Xialang. Both the water volume in the dry season and the number of visitors in the off-season seemed to still be rousing from their winter slumber. From snippets of conversations with local residents, we learned that unlike the loneliness we saw before, every summer, thousands of tourists flood here to wade in the stream and escape the heat – Xialang Village truly "lives off the waves".

Originally a private residence, the Liao Wei Mansion later served as a brewery and farmer's dwelling before falling into disuse. Designated as a Chengdu historical building and protected heritage site in 2018, it has now been transformed into Anren Ancient Town's visitor center and community center. As the historical DNA of this area, the visitor center serves as the genesis of newly constructed neighborhoods, forming a new cluster of Linpan spatial communities. This project stands as a research sample of China's new town development.

To explore the significance of Maiji Mountain culture and art, we must first consider the influence of Buddhism, and design begins from here. Circumambulatory structures are the most common and primitive form of space used for ceremonial and commemorative purposes after the awakening of human consciousness, corresponding to the Buddhist concept of reincarnation. All living things, if they do not seek 'liberation', will forever be in the cycle of life and death in the 'Six Paths', with no end. Of course, these concepts and annotations have undergone changes through cultural integration in the long river of history, especially in the process of communication and integration with the native culture of the Han ethnic group, and even in the process of modernization. They have surpassed the original meaning of Buddhism and have a more contemporary interpretation, which will foreshadow the realistic power of sustainable development and affect our life experience.

The project serves as a tourism hub leveraging surrounding rural resources. After on-site surveys, the design team selected a hilly area in southern Daguan Town, originally planned for high-rise residential development. The site features rich natural vegetation and varied terrain, with a central hill and a maximum elevation difference of about 60 meters.

The project is situated along Donghai No.1 Road in Xiapu, Ningde City, Fujian Province, and serves as a crucial element in the construction of Ningde's "Zero Carbon Island". The original site comprised a viewing platform and a parking lot. Adjacent to the East China Sea, it boasts a vast vista. Directly in front of the platform stands Bijia Mountain Island, rising majestically from the sea, with numerous reefs and sea caves lining the cliffs below. The sea breeze, waves, islands, reefs, and sea caves collectively create a unique coastal scenery.

The Visitor Center as the starting point of the tourist offer for a tour of the Đalovića Cave is being developed in a challenging location in the form of a group format. The building is the result of a response to the found context of built physical structures and the surrounding landscape, primarily the proximity of the Bistrica River and mountain peaks. The object is exposed to views from all sides, so the offered form is loose and playful. Due to the time-limited stay of visitors who are part of the tour to Đalovića Cave, the main idea was to establish physical and visual contact with the river as a dominant design factor as soon as possible. That's why the building is "split" into two parts, grouping functions so that the hall area becomes an extended terrace that overlooks the river.

The site is located at the end of the Gyeongui Line Forest Park, featuring contrasting contexts with a 20-meter-wide road in the front and a park in the back. Accordingly, the design minimizes the number of openings toward the road, giving the building a solid and heavy mass. On the park side, the openings are maximized to create a dense visual interaction with the park's forest.

Location - Pustevny is a significant mountain point and tourist attraction on the Beskydy Mountains ridge, offering a wide range of tourist, sports, and recreational activities. Since the late 19th century, the area has been progressively urbanized due to the rise of tourism. Architecturally significant buildings have emerged in the saddle, such as shelters designed by Dušan Jurkovič and the cable car terminal by Kamil Mrva, showcasing contemporary architectural approaches. The site is easily accessible from the north by cable car from Trojanovice or by car or bus from the south via the road from Prostřední Bečva, making it a popular destination. The original secluded character of the saddle, once home to hermitages (Czech “poustevníci”, hence the name Pustevny) isolated from the outside world, has transformed into a bustling area frequently visited by less experienced tourists and those interested in Pustevny's architectural heritage.

The Dune du Pilat is both powerful and fragile, a source of fascination, hence the high standards imposed for its conservation and for receiving the public. The surrounding infrastructure carries the Grand Site de France label, so the restoration project had to embrace a sustainable development dynamic and welcome visitors in a quality environment. Its rehabilitation needed to live up to its exceptional nature. The project would bring the site up to standard and include a diagnosis, intending to propose various design and planning scenarios. The main goal was to improve the conditions for receiving the public and preserve the site. Rehabilitation objectives included: the upgrade of existing huts; development of administrative, reception, educational and commercial functions; and improved flows and PRM accessibility.
