The new town hall of Scharrachbergheim, a small Alsatian village, seeks horizontality and transparency to integrate into this magnificent wooded site. The external regular framework of the wooden structure affirms the public dimension of the building, while ensuring a timeless aesthetic. The dark and velvety tint of the protective pine tar and the refined and elegant sizing of the wooden columns echo both the village's colombages and the site's trees. The corten steel expanded mesh cladding gives an almost woven appearance to the facade while reminding the tones of local stone (Vosges sandstone), very present in the historic village. The ensemble is contemporary but rooted, rigorous but gentle. As if it had always been there.

The Breeze Hall is located in Lu Xun Park, the most important memorial park in Shanghai. It originated from a patch of mixed woods on the south side of the Lu Xun Memorial Museum, which was fenced off and designated as a dead corner left by urban development. In 2023, SHISUO Design Office was commissioned to reorganize this site—some trees were transplanted to the south, creating a walkway together with the existing trees in front of the Lu Xun Memorial Museum, and also providing a soft boundary for the new building. Other trees were moved to the flanks of the site, forming a large enclosed open space. Large trees and bamboo within the site were retained, and the newly placed pathways harmoniously interacted with them——All these adjustments endow the site with greater publicness.

The modernist building has been fully renovated and retains many of its original qualities. ERIK arkitekter has restored the town hall based on its key architectural ideas while futureproofing it with contemporary workspaces. Lyngby Town Hall, designed by the now passed-away architects Hans Erling Langkilde and Ib Martin Jensen, joins the ranks of Scandinavian functionalist town halls from the mid-20th century — think, for instance, of Aarhus City Hall by Arne Jacobsen and Erik Møller or Gunnar Asplund's Gothenburg Town Hall. The building was originally inaugurated in 1941.

Situated in the heart of Sydney, the restored Parramatta Town Hall stands as a seamless blend of historical reverence and contemporary flair. Reopened 140 years after its establishment in 1883, the town hall remains a central gathering space for the community. Integral to the vision is its connection to PHIVE (Parramatta Civic Hub)—a vibrant community, cultural, and civic hub within the local landscape adjoined to the lively Parramatta Square. The collaborative effort of DesignInc, Lacoste+Stevenson, Manuelle Gautrand Architecture (MGA), and TKD Architects overseeing heritage restoration ensures a harmonious balance between the site's rich history and the demands of a modern entertainment venue.

The extension of the historic town hall in Holzwickede offered the opportunity to merge the market square in terms of urban development and to give the town hall itself a new wholeness. The listed town hall, built in 1915, was preserved and recognizable as a solitary structure. At the same time, an angular structure was added to it in such a way that a new urban solitaire was created in which the existing building is a self-evident part of the larger whole.

Identity: The design task poses the fundamental question of how to deal with the village structure of Oy-Mittelberg and the associated surroundings. The new town hall is meant to form a symbiosis with the existing structure and closes the urban space towards St.-Anna-Square. The result is a building that continues the structural form of the site and implements functional necessities. The orientation towards traditional construction methods, the associated choice of materials, and the optimization of the building services contribute to a contemporary administrative building, which considers the issue of sustainability over the entire life cycle of the building from production, through use, to deconstruction.

Etampes Town Hall wants to build a new community center for the Croix de Vernailles neighborhood, a modern urban area built in the 1960s on top of a hill up north of the city center. The existing facilities are dispersed all over three different buildings in the neighborhood making it very difficult to create a cohesive social project. Moreover, in recent years, the neighborhood has seen a dramatic increase in population making the existing spaces too small.

Expressions used during the reconstruction refer to the morphology and materials of Holešovice, the building respects a historical context of the district with its specifications, honor local industrial aesthetics. The original building was stripped to the core, only the necessary loadbearing constructions were left and the beautiful structural skeleton was exposed. The beauty of the civil engineering constructions lies in their sincerity and honesty. Therefore we honor the rhythm of the structure. We work with the motives which uplift a common building and make it noble as the town hall belongs. The town hall is a public building and it serves the people.
