Located in Santa Margalida, a small town in the north of Mallorca, the project proposes a building with 10 social housing units and 10 multipurpose spaces, constructed using local and/or low environmental impact materials. The exterior structure is built with marés sandstone from local quarries, resulting in a robust and durable construction that ensures the building's integration into its surroundings. The interior is resolved through a horizontal structure of prefabricated timber panels and a vertical structure of load-bearing walls made of locally sourced brick, facilitating the project's economic feasibility.

Nicolas Hugoo Architecture has completed 36 social housing units, LA Architectures a media library and 75 family flats, and the atelier Régis Roudil has completed a student residence hall with 75 flats in the Paul Bourget neighborhood of the 13th arrondissement in Paris. The operation to upgrade the Paul-Bourget neighborhood began in 2014, aiming to break the isolation of the site and ensure the lasting improvement of the cityscape for its inhabitants. Led by Elogie Siempand Semapa and designed by Urban Act, this ambitious urban renewal project achieved the creation of a new generation of flats on this 4-hectare site and restored the presence of greenery and biodiversity.

The Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes occupies a strategic position in the urban fabric of Barcelona, acting as a convergence point for three of its main arteries: Gran Via, Avinguda Diagonal, and Avinguda Meridiana. Each of these contributes differentiated urban conditions: Gran Via connects to the eastern coastline and promotes mobility that reduces the presence of vehicular traffic; Diagonal structures the Eixample, articulating the connection between the sea and the higher areas of the city; while Meridiana transforms its urban character precisely upon reaching Glòries. This node is also accessed by the historic Ribes road, designed as a civic axis that reinforces pedestrian and cyclist mobility, connecting neighborhoods and facilities in continuity with Clot street.

DE PEUS A TERRA (i el cap pels núvols) is a building with 50 social housing units in the Bon Pastor neighborhood of Barcelona, where common sense and passion come together, unapologetically celebrating community while carefully tending to the domestic sphere. Our building is part of the transformation of “las casas baratas de Bon Pastor” (the cheap houses of Bon Pastor), a housing complex that was created to provide shelter for all those workers who came to Barcelona to work at the 1929 International Exposition. Since 2002, this complex of 784 single-story homes with interior courtyards has been replaced by high-rise multi-family buildings... including ours, with a ground floor and six stories!

Since the military coup of February 2021, Housing NOW has developed a modular bamboo housing system engineered for emergency and conflict-affected contexts in Myanmar. The country has hundreds of bamboo species in all shapes, colors, and forms. Conventionally, the largest-diameter species are used for construction, while smaller culms are employed for farming or fencing. The larger culms go for higher prices on the market; by contrast, small-diameter bamboo is extremely abundant and inexpensive because its traditional applications demand it in large quantities. This affordability presents an architectural opportunity: by bundling and reconfiguring these small culms into structural frames, Housing NOW has repurposed a low-value material into a groundbreaking construction system.

We propose a rational Project, flexible and adaptable to the social and urban conditions required. The whole volume is conceived as a permeable system, pierced by multiple holes that cross the building from one facade to another connecting with the interior courtyards and generating a housing model sculpted and carved by interior voids that takes full advantage of the climatic conditions of the area and at the same time generates internal spaces of connection between the neighbors, creating new spaces of social connection without sacrificing the privacy of each house. The volumetric set tries to work as one more block of Barcelona's "ensanche", and looks for spatial relations with the surroundings pretending to formalize itself as a silent and functional architecture.

The aim of the project was to create an ensemble of houses and facilities intended to accommodate children placed in care. The site is located on the edge of a forest, close to the town's public facilities: school, stadium, community hall, etc. The program called for large houses (with seven bedrooms) capable of housing siblings. One of several aims of the project was to break down the various volumes in order to avoid a massive sensation within the project site.

Situated between an urban park and the Deûle River at the junction of the EuraTechnologies Grande Pelouse (Great Lawn) and the Quai Hegel, the scheme is part of a larger urban redevelopment that aims to create spaces that are not only livable but also economically and environmentally forward-thinking. Hannah Arendt House has been awarded France's E+C-label (Positive Energy and Carbon Reduction Buildings).
