Pendant Lamp - LikeShadow | OLEV

OLEV is an Italian designer lighting brand specializing in LED lamps that combine artisanal craftsmanship with intelligent lighting technology. LikeShadow is an indoor pendant lamp designed by OLEV founder Andrea Lanaro, centered on a cylindrical LED body decorated with fine grooved lines that emits light both upward and downward. The defining feature is a thin, ultra-lightweight disc of hand-woven carbon fiber thread—developed in collaboration with the Karbony brand—that slides up and down the lamp's suspension wires to cast intricate geometric shadow patterns across the ceiling.

The carbon fiber shade works as a customizable element rather than a fixed component: raising or lowering it changes the width and intensity of the chiaroscuro effect projected onto the ceiling, allowing the lamp's visual character to be adjusted to suit the space or the moment. Because it is the shadows themselves that form the decorative pattern, the lamp reads very differently depending on its setting—more sculptural in a domestic dining room, more atmospheric in a hospitality environment with high or vaulted ceilings.

The direct downward light source is fitted with an anti-glare filter for visual comfort, while the upward beam contributes to ambient illumination and helps animate the shadow play above. Each piece is hand-assembled and finished in Italy, consistent with OLEV's broader production approach.
