More about this product

Kuraray is a global manufacturer of advanced interlayer technologies that enhance the strength, safety, and performance of laminated glass. SentryGlas® interlayer from Kuraray’s Advanced Interlayer Solutions Division was used in Al Rostamani Maze Tower, a mixed-use high-rise located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Al Rostamani Maze Tower

Rising along Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Rostamani Maze Tower is one of Dubai’s most recognizable landmarks. Designed by planquadrat Elfers Geskes Krämer GmbH and completed in 2011, the 48-story tower combines 24 floors of premium office space with 24 floors of residential apartments. Its defining feature is a dramatic, maze-like façade composed of flowing bands of blue glass and gray steel, creating a dynamic rhythm across the elevation. The complexity of the façade geometry demanded high structural performance from its glazing systems while maintaining precise visual clarity.

SentryGlas® interlayer was specified for the balcony balustrades and the tower’s external maze panels. Engineered for demanding structural glazing applications, the interlayer enables glass to act as an active structural element, delivering high post-breakage strength, impact resistance, and long-term durability. In Dubai’s harsh climate, marked by heat, UV exposure, and wind loads, the laminated glass panels have maintained their performance and optical quality for nearly two decades. The result is a façade that not only defines the tower’s identity but also demonstrates how advanced interlayer technology can support architectural ambition with lasting reliability.
