The project repurposed a historic hospital into a contemporary cultural facility while preserving its architectural heritage. Led by Murado & Elvira, the design creates a warm, inviting interior that complements the stone exterior, enhancing the visitor experience across study rooms, children’s areas, archive spaces, and multifunctional areas opening onto a central patio.

Fireshield® panels were specified for interior wooden elements to meet rigorous fire safety requirements for public use. Treated to provide full-thickness fire resistance, the panels retain their performance after machining and installation. They were used in bespoke furniture, wall linings, and custom shelving, delivering a cohesive, durable, and safe interior that revitalizes the historic landmark while maintaining comfort and visual warmth.
