A composite metal deck slab is a steel–concrete structural system in which a profiled steel sheet (typically galvanized) and concrete work together to resist the loads acting on the slab. Unlike conventional permanent formwork, the steel sheet in these systems also perform a structural function during the service stage of the building.

Composite floor profiles enable efficient installation and structural optimization, allowing higher load-bearing capacity with reduced slab depth, lower slab self-weight, and a more efficient use of steel and concrete. These characteristics contribute to shorter construction times and optimized structural performance.
