At the Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai, a luxury open-air resort, MOSO^® Bamboo products were applied as part of a material strategy tailored to the site’s tropical coastal conditions. The resort is conceived as a sequence of naturally ventilated spaces, shaded walkways, and fluid transitions between interior and exterior areas, maintaining a close relationship with the surrounding mangrove landscape.

Located in an environment where humidity, salinity, and mould are constant factors, the project required materials with proven dimensional stability and long-term outdoor performance. MOSO^® Bamboo X-treme^® cladding with Trapezium profile, together with MOSO^® Bamboo X-treme^® beams, were selected for the operable shutters in the lobby and for the overhead beam canopy that shades circulation routes throughout the resort.

The use of bamboo elements supports passive climate strategies by filtering sunlight, encouraging airflow, and enhancing user comfort in shared areas. At the same time, the natural texture and warm tone of the material reinforce the architectural language of the resort, blending contemporary design with the surrounding tropical vegetation.

Designed for demanding exterior conditions, MOSO^® Bamboo X-treme^® products offer high durability, dimensional stability, and resistance to biological decay without the need for chemical preservatives. This makes them particularly suitable for coastal and high-humidity environments such as the Riviera Maya.
