MOSO® Bamboo supplies a range of sustainable bamboo products for interior and exterior architectural applications. Developed to meet high technical and aesthetic standards, these materials combine durability, performance, and environmental responsibility, offering a renewable alternative to conventional flooring solutions.
At the La Défense Grande Arche train station in Paris, the architectural firm Duthilleul selected MOSO® Bamboo UltraDensity flooring to introduce a warmer material palette within one of Europe’s busiest transport hubs. The project set out to soften the station’s predominantly mineral character while meeting the demands of intensive daily use.

The bamboo flooring is deployed across platforms, concourses, staircases, and circulation corridors, creating a continuous material surface that guides passenger movement and enhances spatial clarity. Its warm tone contrasts with the exposed concrete structure and reflective wall surfaces, contributing to a more human-scale experience within the large-volume station.
Designed for high-traffic environments, MOSO® Bamboo UltraDensity flooring offers resistance to wear, impact, and abrasion. Its performance characteristics make it suitable for public transport infrastructure, where durability, safety, and long-term maintenance are critical considerations.

The use of bamboo extends vertically through staircases and transitional spaces, reinforcing material continuity between levels. Combined with integrated lighting and clear wayfinding, the flooring helps define circulation routes while maintaining visual coherence throughout the station.
Beyond its technical performance, the choice of bamboo aligns with the project’s sustainability ambitions. As a rapidly renewable material with a long service life, bamboo supports the environmental goals of contemporary public infrastructure while offering a refined architectural finish.
