MOSO® Bamboo supplies a range of sustainable bamboo products for interior and exterior architectural applications. Developed to meet high technical and aesthetic standards, these materials combine durability, performance, and environmental responsibility, offering a renewable alternative to conventional construction materials.
At Matchbox, the first building in the creative industrial hub of Strijp-S in Eindhoven to be constructed almost entirely from wood, MOSO® Bamboo X-treme cladding was selected to define the building’s façade. Designed by KAAN Architecten, the project combines residential, commercial, and office spaces within a compact timber structure that reflects the creative identity of Strijp-S.
The building’s concrete core is surrounded by timber floors, columns, and beams, while the façade is articulated through a regular wooden grid. The bamboo cladding reinforces this structural rhythm, enhancing the building’s natural expression and emphasizing the logic of its timber construction.

Designed for exterior applications, MOSO® Bamboo X-treme cladding offers high durability and dimensional stability. The material reaches Fire Class B without the use of additional fire retardants, avoiding environmentally harmful treatments while meeting stringent safety requirements.
In total, 1,250 m2 of MOSO® Bamboo cladding was installed. Beyond its technical performance, the material contributes to the project’s negative carbon footprint, supporting the building’s broader sustainability ambitions. Matchbox demonstrates how innovative material choices and thoughtful architectural design can deliver affordable, high-quality living and working spaces while actively contributing to climate goals.
