Lamberts manufactures profiled glass solutions designed for durable, high-performance architectural applications across façades and exterior building envelopes. LINIT® U Glass, specifically the LINIT® EcoGlass P 26/60/7 low-iron solar TCH variant (toughened, color ceramic frit, heat-soak-tested) combined with translucent insulating material (TIM), from Lamberts, was used in the English National Ballet School in London, England.

Designed by Glenn Howells Architects and completed in 2019, the English National Ballet School forms part of the award-winning English National Ballet building, which has received multiple honors, including two Building of the Year awards. Recognized as one of the premier ballet facilities worldwide, the project sets a new standard for future dance buildings. The ground floor contains public functions such as the foyer, retail areas, and a large central screening room, while the full-height stage house occupies the entire vertical volume of the structure. On the first floor are offices for the ballet’s 200 employees, an exhibition space, and a dedicated costume tailoring workshop. The two upper floors house the English National Ballet School, where abundant natural light and high-quality working environments support training and performance preparation.
A total of 3,600 square meters of low-iron LINIT® EcoGlass clads the five-story building, creating a translucent facade that has earned consistent recognition in design awards. The LINIT® EcoGlass P 26/60/7 panels feature a solar surface structure and are sandblasted on the back, giving the building an elegant, softly illuminated appearance that distinguishes it within London’s cityscape. Full-height transparent glass openings are strategically inserted to offer views into the interior. For improved thermal performance, the profiled glass facade is combined with translucent insulating material (TIM). Known for its durability and high load-bearing capacity, the LINIT® system can be custom-made with different thicknesses, web widths, and flange heights, enabling it to meet the project’s aesthetic and structural needs.
