Elval Colour manufactures coating solutions for sustainable building envelopes and materials. Located near the central transport hub of Örebro, Sweden, the Citypassagen office building features etalbond® A2 aluminium composite panels in a gold finish. The material was applied to achieve the façade’s three-dimensional form while ensuring high fire protection and durability.
Designed by ROOF Arkitekter AB, part of PE Teknik & Arkitektur AB, and built by INHUS Group, the project integrates advanced environmental strategies. The building’s design divides the square volume into four interconnected parts, optimizing daylight and internal circulation through two public passageways that connect directly to the city centre.
Elval Colour supplied 4,000 m² of etalbond® A2 panels, compliant with European and international fire safety standards. The panels’ flexibility enabled the creation of the distinctive golden relief façade, while 340 integrated solar panels generate renewable electricity for the building. Additional sustainable systems include rainwater harvesting for toilet use and demand-controlled lighting and ventilation, managed through ceiling sensors to optimize energy performance.
