Elval Colour manufactures coating solutions for sustainable building envelopes and materials. Located on the University of Le Mans campus in France, the Acoustic Technocampus integrates etalbond® A2 composite panels in its façade system. The project includes renovated offices and five research laboratories dedicated to vibrational acoustics, aeroacoustics, and material and interface technology.
Developed by ARS-Architectes Urbanistes and Pocheteau Saillard, the intervention reused a metal structure from 1990, reducing material consumption and environmental impact. The main challenge was to select a cladding solution that combined flexibility, low weight, and fire resistance while contributing to the building’s environmental performance. Elval Colour's etalbond® A2 non-combustible aluminium composite panel was chosen for its compliance with international fire standards and its capacity to form complex, three-dimensional surfaces.

The system allowed quick installation and a durable façade with a strong visual identity. Fully recyclable and coated with environmentally friendly finishes, the material supports the project’s high-quality environmental approach and energy efficiency goals.
