Jonite offers contemporary engineered stonework solutions that merge natural aesthetics with high-performance functionality for modern architectural and landscape designs. Jonite's pool grates were applied at the pool areas of the Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa in Jensen Beach, Florida.
Located on Florida’s Treasure Coast, Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa is a project that combines the location's coastal character with contemporary hospitality. Designed by GE Architecture, the property situates guests within the local coastal context, from the pool terraces to dining areas that open toward the shoreline.
Among the outdoor amenities are two heated pools, including the Reflections Pool Deck + Bar. To support the overflow pool areas, Jonite supplied custom-designed stone grates with an overlapping leaves motif. The pattern references the tropical setting while maintaining the performance standards required for drainage and safety in high-use hospitality environments.
Crafted from a proprietary stone composite, the grates are slip-resistant and durable in humid, coastal conditions. Their textured finish and tailored color tone were selected to echo the surrounding beachscape, providing a consistent visual transition between the deck surface, waterline, and adjacent landscape. The system was installed in 2017 and aligns with the original project’s architectural intent, contributing to a cohesive, low-maintenance poolside environment.
