Jonite offers contemporary engineered stonework solutions that merge natural aesthetics with high-performance functionality for modern architectural and landscape designs. Jonite's stone tree grates were selected for the new sections of the Burj Boulevard in Dubai.
Burj Boulevard is a nearly three-kilometer walkway located in the centre of Downtown Dubai. Masterplanned by landscape architects Cracknell Landscape Design LLC, the project integrates residential towers, dining, retail, and public spaces into a pedestrian-oriented urban corridor. Set against the Burj Khalifa, the boulevard links major landmarks including the Dubai Opera and The Dubai Mall, providing a continuous streetscape that supports both mobility and leisure.
Jonite’s collaboration with the development began in 2010 with the first installation of engineered stone tree grates in the Burj Khalifa precinct. The material was specified for its durability in a high-traffic setting and its ability to align with the contemporary design of the streetscape. When the boulevard was renovated and extended in 2023, Jonite was again commissioned to provide tree grates for the new sections.
More than one thousand stone tree grate units from the Pyra Collection were installed across the revitalized boulevard. The grates protect the root systems of street trees while establishing a consistent visual rhythm along the promenade. With an engineered stone finish and adaptable design, the system supports long-term maintenance of urban greenery and contributes to the quality of one of Dubai’s most prominent districts.
