Stonetech is a Greek company specializing in the quarrying, processing, and trading of natural stones such as marble and other engineered surfaces.
Natural stone from Stonetech was applied in the Gundari Resort, a hospitality project designed by block722 architects. The contribution focused on a single custom-designed furniture piece, crafted entirely from solid Pocahontas marble, installed within the resort’s interiors.
The Gundari Resort’s architectural approach integrates contemporary design with natural materials, creating an atmosphere that is closely tied to its setting. Interiors are defined by a palette of organic textures and tones, with furniture pieces acting as focal points that enhance the spatial character. Each element is selected and crafted to complement the architectural language and to create a tactile connection with guests.
In this context, furniture design becomes a key component of the overall experience. Rather than serving purely functional purposes, individual pieces act as sculptural elements that contribute to the identity of each space. This strategy aligns with the project’s aim of offering an immersive environment where materials, textures, and forms work together cohesively.
Stonetech manufactured and installed a bespoke solid table in Pocahontas marble. The stone’s rich tonal variation and distinctive veining were carefully positioned to achieve visual continuity across the table’s top and support. Produced in Stonetech’s marble atelier, the piece underwent precision cutting, edge finishing, and polishing to meet the project’s aesthetic and dimensional requirements.
The result is a furniture piece that functions as both a practical surface and a visual anchor within the space. Its presence reinforces the resort’s material narrative, demonstrating how a single crafted element in natural stone can enhance the architectural composition and leave a lasting impression on guests.
