Stonetech is a Greek company specializing in the quarrying, processing, and trading of natural stones including marble and other engineered surfaces.
Natural stone from Stonetech was applied throughout "Echo of the Seas", a private residence located in Agios Nikolaos, Crete, Greece. Designed by Entopos Architects, the project employs a material-driven approach to achieve continuity between interior and exterior spaces.
Standing on the coastline of Agios Nikolaos, the residence is defined by linear geometries, protected courtyards, and open sea views. The architectural composition references local building traditions through proportion, restraint, and the use of natural finishes, establishing a quiet retreat with a clear spatial logic.
Stonetech was selected for the full scope of marble applications, with an emphasis on finish quality, surface continuity, and performance. The stone palette combines honed and brushed textures for interior zones and extends to more textured finishes for exterior and wet areas to meet functional requirements.
Interior flooring features Moca Cream marble in a brushed finish, producing a warm, soft tone that complements natural light. Travertino Light in a brushed finish is applied across interior and exterior floors and extends to cladding in the exterior BBQ area, creating a continuous surface language.
Bathrooms use Pocahontas marble in honed and ribbed textures for vanity tops, wall cladding, and feature walls. For selected vertical elements and functional surfaces, Minoan Black in a honed finish is used on wall cladding and the kitchen island.
Pool copings are executed in Ionian Terrazzo with a sandblasted finish to enhance slip resistance while maintaining the project’s neutral stone palette. All materials were fabricated and installed by Stonetech to ensure uniformity in texture and detailing across the residence.
Through close collaboration with the architectural team, the company provided bespoke stonework that aligned with the project's spatial logic and minimalist aesthetic. The result is a carefully integrated stone strategy that supports the architectural narrative while enhancing the sensory and material experience of the residence.
