Stonetech is a Greek company specializing in the quarrying, processing, and trading of natural stones, including marble and other engineered surfaces.
Natural stone from Stonetech was applied throughout the Aimasia Residence in Elia, Mykonos, Greece. Designed by A31 Architecture with interiors by Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio and landscape design by Archetopo, the project employs a material-driven approach that links interior and exterior spaces across a 14,000 m² plot and 850 m² of built area.
The residence is a contemporary interpretation of Cycladic architecture, characterised by clean volumes, earthy textures, and integration with the hillside terrain. Spatial organisation prioritises clarity and flow, with natural finishes supporting a calm environmental character. Stone was specified to reinforce the architectural geometry and provide durable surfaces for both private and shared areas.
Stonetech fabricated and supplied all marble and natural stone surfaces. Material selection and finishes were coordinated to meet performance requirements for wet areas, circulation, and exterior exposures while maintaining visual continuity across the project.
In bathrooms, Pentelikon Marble in honed and brushed finishes was used for cladding, vanities, and custom bathroom furniture; in select outdoor wet zones, Pentelikon in a sandblasted finish was applied to pool tile surfaces.
Nero Granite in combined sandblasted and brushed finishes was installed across bathroom floors, wall claddings, integrated vanities, wash basins, and the hammam. Skiros Marble was specified in two finishes: polished for solid bathroom vanities and sandblasted for pool tile areas.
A spa feature wall utilises Tinos Green Marble in a honed finish with a hand-chiseled edge, providing a distinct focal element. For pool decking and tile applications, Naxos Marble in a bush-hammered finish delivers a tactile, non-slip surface suitable for exterior use.
The resulting material composition—defined by its balance of contrast, craftsmanship, and contextual relevance—supports the architectural vision of enduring quality and a deep connection to the surrounding landscape.
