Characteristics
Remote monitoring, high-precision, BIM-compatible
Schindler has been engineering smart, sustainable mobility since 1874, keeping cities connected and people moving.
Schindler presents R.I.S.E, the Robotic Installation System for Elevators, an autonomous self-climbing robot that automates key steps in elevator shaft installation. This innovative system increases precision, improves worker safety, and accelerates construction timelines in high-rise buildings.
Shaft Installation Automation
Schindler R.I.S.E autonomously performs core installation tasks inside the elevator shaft, such as drilling anchor holes and fastening guide rail brackets. The robot climbs the shaft floor by floor, executing each task with consistent accuracy and no need for human presence inside the shaft.
Key features:
- Autonomous drilling and anchoring
- Self-climbing robot operation
- Consistent, high-precision results
- Remote monitoring and supervision
Worker Safety and Site Efficiency
By automating physically demanding and repetitive tasks, Schindler R.I.S.E improves on-site safety and reduces worker exposure to noise, dust, and confined spaces. The system minimizes the need for manual labor inside the shaft, helping reduce fatigue and risk while speeding up installation workflows.
Key features:
- No worker entry required inside shaft
- Reduced physical strain and injury risk
- Cleaner, quieter installation process
- Shorter construction timeframes
Digital Integration
Schindler R.I.S.E integrates with Building Information Modeling (BIM), allowing installation parameters to be pre-programmed based on digital project data. Each installation is recorded and fed back into the digital model for full traceability, improving accuracy and project coordination.
Key features:
- BIM-compatible for layout accuracy
- Digital installation logging
- Reduced margin for human error
- Supports seamless project planning
Proven Performance
Schindler R.I.S.E has been successfully deployed in major international projects, including high-rise towers in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America. It received the Swiss Technology Award for innovation and continues to shape the future of construction automation.
