More about this product

A-Light is a manufacturer of high-performance architectural luminaires designed to elevate contemporary spaces with visual precision and minimal forms.

A-Light’s D3 linear fixtures were custom-integrated into the roof canopies of The Star District in Frisco, Texas, USA. This Dallas Cowboys-themed retail and entertainment complex, masterplanned by O’Brien Architects Dallas, combines sports heritage with modern design, anchored by the team’s headquarters and the Ford Center indoor stadium.

Spanning two buildings with 35 restaurants, shops, and adjacent parking garages, The Star District features expansive canopies that define a central plaza known as the Ring of Honor, a signature tribute to legendary Dallas Cowboys players. Henderson Engineers designed a lighting scheme that would complement the architectural forms while meeting performance and safety standards. The design team selected A-Light’s D3 Accolade luminaires for their compact profile, performance, and ability to integrate discreetly within the canopies’ articulated reveals.

A-Light’s Design Assist team customized each D3 linear fixture to align with the canopy's distinct lines and angles. The result is a clean ribbon of light that blends with the silver-toned structure by day and becomes a sleek luminous guide by night. These high-performance luminaires provide wide-reaching, direct illumination to sidewalks and storefronts below, enhancing visibility, safety, and the sense of arrival.

Additional D3 fixtures were ceiling-mounted in breezeways, patterned above escalators to draw visitors inward while integrating daylight sensors to adapt to changing natural light conditions. Together, these lighting interventions support the architectural identity and enhance the pedestrian experience across the district.
