A-Light is a manufacturer of high-performance architectural luminaires designed to elevate contemporary spaces with visual precision and minimal forms.
A-Light’s D3 Accolade fixture was used for the chapel at Ecole Jean-Robert Gauthier Secondary School, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Designed by Edward J. Cuhaci & Associates Architects, the space provides students with an environment for peaceful reflection and spiritual pause within the school campus.

The chapel's main characteristic is its curved walls and natural materials, which generate a serene atmosphere. A gently arched wood ceiling and soft daylight contribute to the chapel’s contemplative ambiance, serving as the symbolic “heart of the school.” In this intimate context, lighting was approached delicately, aiming to support the spatial experience without drawing attention away from its architectural intent.
A-Light’s D3 surface linear fixture was suspended flush to the slotted wood ceiling, blending seamlessly with the architectural rhythm. The result is a quiet lighting gesture that mimics the look of a recessed luminaire while maintaining ease of access and flexibility. Its soft and even illumination reinforces the project's mood and enhances the natural tones and textures of the materials throughout the space.
